Sorry but NO. Only players that played in the previous Fall League are elligitable to play in the Spring League. For insurance and libility reasons, you must be a current registered PYSL player.

How do I signup?

The best way to signup is online. Follow the three easy steps listed at the top of the Spring League page. If you don't have online access, you can mail in the signup form.

What can I do to help organize spring league?

Email the Spring League Coordinator with your contact information. We are all volunteers. The more volunteers we get, the easier it is on everyone. Of course we need coaches and referees. There are less visible but necessary areas where we could use help; registration, team setup, database entry and equipment management, just to name a few. You may have specific talents that would help us. It is a rewarding experience

What is the preferred way to register for the spring league?

You can register for the Spring League on the PYSL website or via a paper registration form. The website signup is new for 2002 and is the preferred method. The signup instructions are located on the Spring League page. The registration is a three step process:

  1. Complete the online registration form.
  2. Print and sign the Medical Release form. You can fill this acrobat form online before you print it.
  3. Mail the Medical Release form and a check to the address shown on the Spring League page.

You can also sign up using the registration form that was mailed to returning players or obtained from a PYSL director. The preferred registration method is on the website.

How do I correct some wrong information that I entered?

If you make a mistake on the web form, you can submit it again with the correct information. Otherwise, email the Spring League Coordinator with the correct information.

What is the time commitment for families and players?

The spring league is a show up and play league – unlike the fall league. Teams typically have few practices.

How can I put my child on a team coached by a specific coach?

Coaches may recruit their own teams. You can speak with the desired coach and ask if he or she can include your child.

How can I get my child on the same team with his or her friends?

Coaches may recruit their own teams. One solution would be for one of the parents to be a coach. If none of the parents can coach, try to contact a coach about including all the players in the group. Finally, if none of those suggestions work out, you can request that players be grouped together. However, we cannot guarantee that all of the players would end up on the same team.

Which age group should my child play in?

Your child should play in the same age group as they played in last fall. See the age chart at the bottom of the Spring League page.

I’m interested in coaching – How much time will it take?

The spring league is a show up and play league – unlike the fall league. Teams typically have few practices. Almost all games will be on Saturdays. For this reason, coaches won’t need to spend a lot of time running their teams. If you are planning on going to go to your child’s games, you might as well coach.

I’m interested in coaching – How do I get my players?

Coaches may select/recruit their own players. The director will assign uncommitted players to teams that need additional players. Teams may include players outside their own club. Clubs are the geographic areas of Petaluma (Adobe, Coastal and Valley). The director names are listed on the Spring League page.

How many Division 1 and 3 players can I have on my Team?

Each team will be limited in the number of Division 1 or Division 3 players. Exact limits have not been finalized yet.

Where can my team Practice?

PYSL will have fields reserved for practices (like we do in the fall). They will be the same fields that the games will be played on. Practices are optional. Some coaches will have several practices, some will have none. Practices are not as strongly encouraged as they are in the fall league which is larger, longer and a little more serious. You might consider having one practice to get to know everyone.

I have more questions. Who should I contact?

The phone numbers of the spring league organizers are listed on the main spring league web page. In addition, email addresses are available under the contacts section of the PYSL website.

How can I be a referee for spring league?

I’m having a problem filling out the online medical release form

The version 5 Acrobat Reader that you can download right from the PYSL website works much better than version 4. There seemed to be a problem a while ago but I downloaded it Thursday evening, February 28, and it worked ok. The download is 10MB so it will take a while if you don’t have a DSL or Cable connection. You can fill out the form before printing it.

What fields will games be played on?

When will games be played?

Games will be usually played on Saturdays only from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm. For more information, see the game schedule for your age group on the Spring page. The schedule is posted about a week after registration closes. Please do not call the coordinator about this. When it is ready, it will be posted on the website.
