SCA Player Development Academy focus is to create a fun and exciting environment that will motivate players to develop their technical ability and passion for soccer. The SCA Player Development Academy (PDA) is a 7-month program. Tryouts will be held in early April to form SCA Division 1 teams and the Rohnert Park and Petaluma Division 3 teams. These teams will all have coaches that will be in charge of the day to day operations. SCA teams will be coached by PDA staff members. Division 3 teams will be coached by volunteer coaches selected by their home league. All these teams will be trained under the SCA Player Development Academy staff. The Academy will include players from SCA U9-U11 B/G, Petaluma United Class 3 U10 B/G and Rohnert Park Division 3 U10 B/G. See the Web Link for more detailed program and cost information.

History

The Sonoma County Alliance (SCA) was established in 2001 for the ages of U15-U19. It was created by Petaluma Youth Soccer League (PYSL) and Rohnert Park Soccer League (RPSL) in order to create more stable and competitive teams in these age groups. During this time Petaluma United and Rohnert Park Express operated separately in the U10-U14 age groups. After two years of great success in SCA with the U15-U19 age groups Petaluma and Rohnert Park decided to join forces in all age groups. In 2005 SCA had teams from U9 to U19 age groups. Our U9-U11 players along with the Division 3 teams of Petaluma and Rohnert Park will trained together at the Soccer Development Academy (SDA). At the end of the 2005 season, RPSL decided not to renew the joint operating agreement with PSYL for SCA. SCA is under the umbrella of PYSL for the 2006 soccer season.
