Welcome to Petaluma Soccer’s 2003 Season

It’s time to start another exciting soccer year in Petaluma. After being involved at many different capacities over the past 10 years, and having children in all different levels of Petaluma soccer, I look forward to the challenge of President. The competitive programs, Sonoma County Alliance (SCA) and United have begun to form teams and both appear to be continuing to strengthen their respective programs again this year. Some changes have been made in both programs to concentrate on the player development. Our Recreational program is gearing up for registration with an expected participation of approximately 2800 kids in PYSL this fall.

Contents of the newsletter will tell stories about our State Championship teams this year, our many soccer programs offered and the progress of our new fields in the sports complex off East Washington Street. During PYSL registration this year, we will be signing up volunteers for an “Adopt a Field” program with hopes of improving and maintaining our existing fields throughout the season. Volunteers are always needed for all different capacities, so please consider assisting in making this soccer season the best ever.

Spring League has online sign-ups to play in May & June for age groups ranging from Under 8 academy to a new trial program of U16 co-ed pick up games. Our website offers information on all our programs and is a valuable tool for keeping up with the pulse of soccer in Petaluma.

We look forward to another great year of soccer in Petaluma. We have hopes of continuing to strengthen the relationship between our competitive programs and PYSL, thus, providing opportunities for all age groups and skill levels to develop, enjoy and continue to be a part of a healthy environment.

Don Angotti, PYSL President, 2007
