Every year, PYSL honors people that have contributed to the success of the league.

2003 PYSL Awards
Award	Name
Volunteer of the Year	Mark Eglin made big contributions throughout the past year on the PYSL website.
Lifetime Achievement	Ken McCoy has been contributing to the PYSL program for many years.
Recreational Coach of the Year	Darren Sciford a coach who sets an example of positive enthusiasm.
Referee Family of the Year	Sheila, Gabrielle & Tommy Siragusa have officiated numerous games at all levels this year.
Leslie B.Davis Youth Referee of the Year	Ryan Wiegmann an outstanding young referee.
Referee of the Year	Chris Arras has officiated a lot of PYSL recreational and competitive games this season. He also volunteered to schedule referees for the older recreational games.
Soccer Person of the Year	Rick Mitchell adds vision, energy and commitment to every part of the PYSL experience. This year he took over the responsibility of a coordinating position and is the epitome of a committed soccer volunteer.
Special Recognition	Bob Green a dedicated coach for many years.

2001 Awards
Special Recongition Awards
Award	Name
Volunteer of the Year	Mark Eglin this year created and maintained the PYSL Website. His energy is limitless, his creativity is limitless and he has built PYSL’s best way of communicating with its players and parents. This was one of PYSL’s goals based on parent comments and Mark made it happen.
Lifetime Achievement	Gil Barquerohas been contributing to Petaluma’s youth soccer program for PYSL entire existence. He began by helping to introduce soccer to the Bay Area by being a founder of the San Francisco men’s leagues in the 1950’s. He then helped Petaluma become the first affiliated youth league in the North Bay in the mid 1970’s. And he has been coaching ever since. Gil is cutting back on his coaching after this year but promises to be around to help even more kids in the future.
Recreational Coach of the Year	Dan Shultz consistently teaches not only soccer to the girls on his team, but more importantly great lessons in teamwork, sportsmanship, perseverance, respect and self esteem. We wish the positive enthusiasm of this coach could be bottled and freely distributed.
Competitive Coach of the Year	In his first year as Head Coach, Randy Hartlieb helped his team achieve success and enjoyment, and was instrumental in our successful Division 3 tournament. He has an infectious caring for kids and enthusiasm in seeing the kids enjoy themselves while leading them to great gains in their skills.

Leslie B.Davis Youth Referee of the Year	Adrianna Cervantes has worked hard all year. Adrianna has developed in a very skilled referee. She has centered Under 16 games. We look forward to her continued success and hope to hear her name in the pro leagues one day.
Referee of the Year	Rick Brereton has been a steady contributor at every level of reffing. He has volunteered as a coach in PYSL for several years and also plays for the local team in the Men’s League. Whether at Lucchesi with the United teams or at Wiseman, Rick always adds to the game.
Soccer Person of the Year	Vicki and George Nazzal went above and beyond the call of duty, or even reasonableness, to make 2000 successful and memorable. They volunteered at every possible level. They led the efforts on the Class III tournament, the field marshaled at City Cup. Every time there was a need, the Nazzal’s helped out.
